General Purpose of the Position
The Business Development Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the growth and success of the organization by assisting in the identification and development of new business opportunities. This position is responsible for coordinating business development activities, managing client relationships, and executing strategies that drive revenue and business expansion. The coordinator works closely with marketing, sales and technical departments to ensure alignment with organizational goals and contribute to the achievement of business objectives.
Principal Responsibilities
Business Development:
- Responsible for maintaining business development pipeline up to date with prospects, opportunities and leads.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate client data for new and existing clients in the Client Relationship Management software, including addition of contacts, email addresses, industry data, critical client field maintenance, client related actions, etc.
- Research marketing/prospect opportunities to help the sales team achieve goals. Include business/professional associations, community organizations, speaking engagements, seminars, and articles submission for publication.
- Responsible for follow-through in client questions, information requests, or document requests.
Opportunity Identification:
- Research and analyze market trends to identify potential business opportunities and emerging market needs.
- Assist in the development of strategies to target new clients and expand existing relationships.
- Participate on monthly business development meetings with the sales teams. Take action after meeting to coordinate events, meetings and gifts to achieve business goals.
Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective and current clients, addressing inquiries and providing information about services or products.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
- Responsible for implementing support tasks in the client experience process.
Lead generation coordination and support:
- Coordinate and support business development activities, including meetings, presentations, and follow-up actions.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create and implement effective strategies and campaigns.
Proposal and Report Preparation:
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and reports for potential clients and stakeholders.
- Track and report on the progress of business development initiatives and provide insights for continuous improvement.
Event coordination:
- Coordinates professional meetings, events, conferences, and trade shows by identifying and assembling requirements, establishing contacts, developing schedules and assignments, and coordinating mailing lists. Event planning will normally require assistance related to location selection, concept creation, invitations, RSVP’S, presentation materials development, handouts, preparing A/V equipment and media room set-up, lunch orders, etc.
- Participates in selected industry, prospect or client special events as requested.
Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain and update databases and records related to business development activities and client interactions.
- Prepare and distribute internal and external communications as needed.
Education, Training and/or Experience Required
This position requires a BBA in Business Administration, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, or a related field.
Strong organizational skills and communication skills, ability to analyze data and market trends, Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM Software. Minimum two (2) years of experience in business development, marketing, sales, or related role is a plus.
Language, Skills and Knowledge
Must possess human relations skills as he/she operates as a representative of Driven Advisors, interacting with customers, prospects, members of the press, business community, and company personnel. Ability to write and speak fluently in both Spanish and English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to work on several projects at a time and have attention to detail.
Must project a mature, well-balanced personality. The ability to work independently and to prioritize tasks is highly recommended. Typing skills and PC knowledge. Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc) is needed. Displays good human relations skills and telephone manners. Impeccable manners, punctuality, reliability, attention to detail and empathy are critical success factors.

The employee must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, and to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands
While working the employee is regularly walking, sitting, reaching, talking, listening, using hands to touch and feel, and/or using office equipment. The job requires that weight be lifted, or force be exerted up to a maximum of 30 pounds.
Work Environment
The employee is regularly working in an office environment under normal conditions. The noise in his/her work environment is moderate.
